E-commerce Full-Stack Developer

Requirements I am looking for an experienced MERN-focused Full Stack Developer who can move quickly from frontend review to a production-ready backend and payment-ready commerce flows. • Minimum 5+ years of MERN stack experience (React, Node.js/Express, MongoDB) with strong backend fundamentals. • Hands-on experience building e-commerce platforms (cart, checkout, orders, user accounts, and product browsing). • Proven experience delivering admin dashboards with role-based access and practical operational tooling. • Direct experience integrating Stripe payments. • Strong understanding of JWT authentication, secure API design, and protecting payment + order flows from edge cases. • Ability to translate frontend needs into backend contract/API design (clear request/response shapes, consistent error handling, and predictable UI states). • Clean development practices: version control, maintainable code, and clear documentation for handoff. • Soft skills we value: ownership, responsiveness, and the ability to break work into milestones. We also expect clear communication and proactive risk identification during implementation. • Portfolio demonstrating similar commerce or payment-integrated projects. Job Description I need you to review the existing frontend and then complete the platform by implementing the missing backend and end-to-end flows. Here is Github Repository of our Frontend: github.com/jose-olivencia235/Ecommerce-Frontend • Perform a code review of the provided React frontend and propose UI/UX improvements that align with the desired backend behavior. • Design and build the backend using Node.js, Express, and MongoDB, including robust APIs for all core pages and user flows. • Implement authentication and authorization with JWT (secure routes, role-based access for admin/dashboard). • Create data models and endpoints for products, collections, cart, orders, wishlists, reviews, and search/filter operations. • Build an admin dashboard: define features, permissions, and the backend support required (inventory/catalog management, order management, and basic analytics where appropriate). • Integrate payments with Stripe, including order creation, payment confirmation/webhooks, and failure handling. • Ensure smooth UX by adding missing frontend/backend coordination such as wishlist actions, reviews workflows, and reliable loading/error states. • Provide estimates, a milestones-based delivery plan, and clear deliverables as the project progresses.

Desirable (Preferred) • Experience with React 18/19 and Vite-based codebases, including performance and UX improvements that enhance loading/error states. • Experience implementing wishlist/reviews systems with moderation-friendly designs and scalable query patterns. • Familiarity with search/filter optimization strategies in MongoDB (indexes, query composition, pagination). • Experience designing admin dashboards with pragmatic components (tables, filters, bulk actions) and secure server-side enforcement. • Ability to propose improvements beyond the initial scope while staying on schedule and budget.
